software engineer · solo iOS developer

I'm Trevor, a software engineer in Seattle. On nights and weekends I design, build, and support three iOS apps by myself: every screen, every line of code, and every support email.

Each one started as a fix for something in my own life: dating with more intention, hunting the best cinnamon roll in the city, and remembering what happened in last Tuesday's tennis match. I use all three every week.

If something breaks or you have an idea, email me!

What I’ve made

Heartlog

Your personal dating journal.

On the App StoreiOS

Heartlog is a private place to keep track of the people you're dating: who they are, where things stand, and what you were thinking after that second date. Prospects, timestamped memories, a calendar of upcoming dates, and Amie, an AI advisor who has actually read your notes.

Why I built this

I'm fascinated by interpersonal connection and psychology, and by whether technology can make our relationships better instead of noisier. Dating apps get a bad rap, so I wanted to build something for the other side of the swipe: a private place to date with intention and remember how you actually felt. It worked on me. Since building Heartlog I met my partner, and we've been together for almost a year.

Where your data lives

Your journal is stored in your own account on Firebase (Google Cloud). Amie's replies are generated with OpenAI from the notes you've written. Nothing is sold or shared with advertisers.

Sweetest

Rank the best sweet treats you've eaten.

On the App StoreiOS

Sweetest is for people with strong opinions about cinnamon rolls. Build your personal Top 10 per category — cookies, croissants, soft serve, slices of cake — follow friends, and watch everyone's picks roll up into anonymized city leaderboards, recomputed nightly.

Why I built this

I discovered baking after moving to Seattle, as something to do on rainy days, and it turned into a real passion. Now I'm always exploring the pastry scene here and wherever I travel; I once took a solo trip to Copenhagen mostly to eat my weight in cardamom knots. I wanted a way to share my favorites with friends and find new ones through theirs, so Sweetest was born.

Where your data lives

Your rankings and profile are stored in your account on Firebase (Google Cloud). Leaderboards are anonymized before they're shown to anyone else. Place search goes through Foursquare.

Changeover

Your tennis, remembered.

On the App StoreiOS

Changeover is a calm tennis logbook, not a stats platform. Log a match in about sixty seconds, jot down what to remember for next time, track your rackets and string setups, and let Changeover AI surface the patterns hiding in your own notes. Local-first: the journal never leaves your phone unless you ask.

Why I built this

I've played tennis since I was ten. These days I compete in tournaments throughout the year and I'm active in the Seattle Tennis Alliance. What I kept losing between matches wasn't fitness, it was memory: the adjustment that finally worked, the pattern an opponent kept running, the string setup I liked. Changeover is the notebook I wanted courtside, one that remembers for me.

Where your data lives

Local-first. Your journal is stored on your phone in a SQLite database and never leaves it unless you ask: Changeover AI (premium) sends the entries you choose to reflect on to OpenAI, and purchases are handled by RevenueCat.
